HEART
MONTH
LEARN CPR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) takes only a few minutes to
learn and can double or triple a
cardiac arrest victim's chance of
survival.
PRIORITIZE YOUR
HEALTH
Being physically active, eating
healthier foods, getting enough
sleep, not smoking, and finding
healthy ways to reduce stress can
help prevent heart disease.
KNOW YOUR RISK
Learn what a healthy blood
pressure, cholesterol,
weight, and blood sugar
level is for you and how
they impact your risk for
heart disease.
DEVELOP A PLAN
You never know when you'll need to
save a life! Developing a cardiac
emergency response plan can
establish specific steps to follow if
the situation arises.
HAVE AN AED
An AED, or automated external
defibrillator, is a medical device
that can analyze the heart's
rhythm and, if necessary, deliver
an electrical shock to help the
heart re-establish an effective
rhythm.
